Last night cPanel released an update to their "RELEASE" branch, cPanel's most recommended branch to run. This new update includes an update for ClamAV, the antivirus scanner for e-mails.

After cpanel update ran on most cpanel servers overnight at 3AM Pacific time, it updated ClamAV to the newest version to be compatible with the latest cpanel version. Some samples of the error:

Oct 28 03:37:10 server10 kernel: spamd[13013]: segfault at 0000000000000030 rip 00002b3bef2d9acf rsp 00007fffb4249540 error 4

As of 9:30am Pacific Time, we found the root cause and all servers have been fixed. Until cpanel finds a solution to the problem clamAV has been disabled on all servers.
